On World Down's Syndrome Day, March 21, 2016, we had the special pleasure to spend a breath-taking evening in our flagship store in Vienna with the "ICH BIN AKTIV" Association. The program was put together by young people with Down's Syndrome and included fashion reviews, ballet, and modern dance. The purpose of the evening was to give these actors with special needs a stage and at the same time to collect donations for further projects of the association.
An appealing evening
The evening began with a welcome from the MC Mag. Ari-Akaba – usually seen as weather presenter on ORF television – and the flagship store manager Katharina Neuhauser. The first act was the "Cool Fashion" show, confidently presented by models on two runways. They hit all the right poses and moved with zest on the runway, evoking a standing ovation from the audience of 220 people.
After this, there was a dance intermezzo by two members of the "Ich bin O.K." Association for Culture and Education. The two dancers managed with ease to make the LÖFFLER flagship store look like the Vienna State Ballet for our guests. After this followed the second fashion act under the motto "Laid-back fashion" which was created for people with disabilities in order to meet their needs for everyday use. As before, these young people managed to get the audience on their feet with a few small show performances. The Dirndl and Lederhosen were also a big hit with the audience. After lots of extra round on the runway, the models had a chance to catch their breath while the musical cabaret duo "Flo&Wisch" stormed the stage. With lots of humour and quick tunes, they magically made a smile appear on the faces of the audience.
Many thought that this may have been the highlight of the evening, but the third act followed and the excitement rose once more. In elegant shirts and fantastic hair-dos, the young models strolled across the two stages and presented elegant evening wear. The beautiful white dresses and sleek suits earned continuous applause from the guests. Like every good evening, this fashion show also closed with elegant fashion. As a special treat for all guests, the runway presentation was followed by a raffle with more than 80 prizes. The main prize, a KNOPFLER chair donated by Werner Löffler, thus found a new home in Upper Austria. The evening ended with a social event in the flagship store with finger food and drinks in which guests were able to mingle with the stars of the show.
Once more, the LÖFFLER team would like to thank all models, helpers, and guests for an unforgettable evening with so many beautiful moments . It would have never been possible without the tireless work of so many.
