Our Designers

Innovative technology and the best features are useless if they are not presented in an appealing and practical form. That's why we place great emphasis on the perfect interplay of form and color, as well as the holistic design of our furniture in interior construction. All the designers we collaborate with share this vision and enrich our furniture with their unique sense and creativity.

Fritz Močnik

Fritz Močnik is a designer and balance developer between the ergonomics of sitting, fine materials and good form. Born in Austria, he studied furniture making and interior design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and environmental management in Krems. He developed “new furniture” under Max Bill, Johannes Spalt and Anna Praun and founded the “Wood Workshops in Southern Carinthia” in 1978. As a product developer on behalf of well-known office furniture manufacturers, he has been working creatively for Löffler since 2008. As a result of the intensive collaboration, you can now find various chairs, tables and office chairs from Fritz Močnik in our portfolio.

"You need a mission before you start, a clear goal and a user group that the furniture will later serve. The construction then requires a lot of care so that it really meets our requirements for longevity.” – Fritz Močnik.

Fritz Močnik studied furniture making and interior design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. After his studies, he became self-employed in St. Michael/Šmihel and founded the “Wood Workshops in Southern Carinthia” cooperative in 1978. Under Max Bill, Johannes Spalt, Luigi Blau and Anna Praun, he developed “new furniture” which found its “place” on the European art market in 1980 in an exhibition impressively described by Gert Jonke. From 1983 to 1992 he worked as a product developer at Bene Büromöbel in Waidhofen an der Ybbs and studied environmental management in Krems part-time.

Günter Beltzig

Günter Beltzig, born on December 26, 1941, in Wuppertal, and passed away on December 26, 2022, gained prominence in the 1960s through his groundbreaking design of plastic furniture. After studying industrial design at the Werkkunstschule Wuppertal, he worked in the design department of Siemens AG Munich. Günter Beltzig founded the company Brüder Beltzig Design, which he led until 1976, before becoming a freelance designer in 1970. His focus was on the needs of children. He published numerous publications, exhibited his works, and collaborated with Löffler since 2009. In 1968, Beltzig created the visionary Floris chair, which made him famous overnight. Today, Floris can be found in the New York Museum of Modern Art and in the Löffler Collection. Thanks to our collaboration with Günter Beltzig, two of his most significant plastic furniture pieces, the Pegasus seat sculpture and his Juniör children's chair, are available again. His belief "Children are our future" is reflected in his work. He developed playground designs worldwide, from Denmark to Puerto Rico. Because for him, "No one is too small for good design". In collaboration with Löffler, Günter Beltzig redesigned the Juniör children's chair. This chair accompanies children playfully in their everyday lives: tip-proof, stable, impact-resistant, washable, weatherproof, free of pollutants, and stackable.

"No compromises on quality" - this was the principle of the artist born in Wuppertal in 1928, who, since the 1950s, crafted fabrics for renowned manufacturers and delved into technical innovations. Experimenting with new yarns and metal threads on her own looms, she created designs that graced trade journals and prestigious collections. The Kolumba Museum in Cologne also acquired original designs and fabric patterns, enriching its collection. Fabrics and carpets by Margret Schriefers-Imhof were showcased at exhibitions and trade fairs, including the 2012 "Color Dreams" special exhibit at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne. Just before her passing in October 2014, she contributed a series of carpet designs for Löffler, a legacy we proudly continue.
