In a small barn, the story of Löffler began in 1992 – driven by the idea of rethinking the way we sit. From this vision, a company has grown over the years that stands for high-quality furniture and deep ergonomic expertise. From the very beginning, it was never just about design, but about understanding how sitting can support the body, relieve strain, and improve everyday life.
1993
ERGO TOP technology was developed in close collaboration with the ergonomics department of the Technical University of Munich. Based on the principle of a gym ball, it enables active sitting by engaging the back muscles and relieving pressure on the spine. Scientifically grounded and still unique to this day.
2010
Production expands and fully relocates to Hersbruck. On approximately 2,200 square meters, LÖFFLER chairs are upholstered, sewn, and assembled. 100% Made in Germany, with meticulous attention to detail.
2025
Löffler becomes part of the Forma 5 Group, an internationally established company with over 40 years of experience in the furniture industry. Production will remain firmly based in Hersbruck, Germany. This is where our products continue to be developed and manufactured with precision and ergonomic expertise – complemented by the strength and global network of the group.

In collaboration with the Chair of Orthopaedics at the Technical University of Munich, we developed our ERGO TOP technology. Based on the principle of a gym ball, it strengthens the back muscles, relieves pressure on the spine, and supports healthy, focused work.
